IAD101S/101H/102H/104H作为VoIP/FoIP媒体接入网关，应用于NGN用户接入层,完成模拟话音与IP包之间的转换，并通过包交换网络传送数据.同时可通过标准MGCP（Media Gateway Control Protocol）和SIP（Session Initiation Protocol）协议，与华为技术有限公司SoftSwitch配合组网，在SoftSwitch控制下完成主被叫间的话路接续。

The IAD101H, IAD102H, and IAD104H interconnect with the SoftCo through the standard SIP protocols and provide one, two, and four FXS interfaces, respectively.
Product Positioning
The IAD101H, IAD102H, and IAD104H are at the edge access layer of HUAWEI unified communications. By adopting the standard voice codec and compression techniques, the IAD101H, IAD102H, and IAD104H encode voice signals, encapsulate them into IP packets, and then send the IP packets to a specified media gateway through the IP network. After the IP packets reach the destination, the destination IAD performs the reverse processing to restore the packets into voice signals. In this way, the VoIP and (fax over IP) FoIP functions are achieved.
The IAD101H, IAD102H, and IAD104H connect to a few POTS users and provide a 10Base-TX or 100Base-TX network interface for connecting to data users. The IAD101H, IAD102H, and IAD104H are applicable to low-density areas such as small enterprises and residential communities. The differences between the IAD101H, IAD102H, and IAD104H are as follows:

The IAD101H provides one FXS interface; the IAD102H provides two FXS interfaces; the IAD104H provides four FXS interfaces.

The IAD102H (PHONE1 port only) and IAD101H support the power failure survival function. That is, when a device encounters a power failure, user can be connected to the PSTN network through LINE port to make calls. The IAD104H does not support this function.

Main Functions
The IAD101H, IAD102H, and IAD104H:

Connect POTS users to the IP network.

Connect data users to the IP network.

Support T.38 fax service and transparent fax transmission.

Support transparent transmission of modem signals.

Support the Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE).

Support network address translation (NAT).

Support the power failure survival function. (Only the IAD101H and IAD102H have this function.)

Support the traditional PSTN phone services, such as CLIP, call forwarding, and call waiting.

Cooperate with the SoftCo to obtain intelligent and feature services, such as the ring back tone (RBT), ONLY service, and card service.
