Huawei Quidway A8010 Expert is designed for ISPs and carriers to construct a large-scale and reliable VoIP network or dial-up access network.

Quidway A8010 Expert uses broadband access platform as its hardware, and VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) system as its software. With high capacity backboard bus and special route processing board for high-speed message forwarding, Expert provides abundant services: dial-up (includes Modem,ISDN and WAP), voice over IP (VoIP), fax over IP (FoIP), virtual private network (VPN), port wholesale, leased line access, callback, and some other IP services.

By using SDP (signaling distribution point), a SS7 over IP technology, a system can support up to 200,000 subscribers. The whole system is introduced with distributed processing and modularized structure, which will not only facilitate expanding new services, but also can add new features.

Accurate clock system and double backup design ensure the system free from single point failure. Scalable software and hardware structure for Expert meet the requirements of telecommunication operators and large ISPs, and enable them to build multi-service network with high density, large capacity, and scalability. Multi-service access

As multi-service access equipment, Expert locates at the station as a tandem in the telecommunication network (it can locate at the station as a local exchange under local exchange data-bypass mode); it is connected with local exchange or other tandem via PSTN network. On the IP network side, Expert can be directly connected with the local network of service providers (it also can be directly connected with local trunk network via broadband uplink interface, such as ATM interface). The corresponding equipment (such as accounting, authentication and authorization equipment) can be setup in the local network. The diagram displays a typical application in which Expert supports dialing (ISDN/Modem), IP phone, IP fax and wireless access at the same time.

VoIP solution

With the development of Internet, IP-based technologies and new services are emerging one after another, VoIP is one of the hot spots among them. The IP phone service is a new kind of voice service with certain quality of service transmitted over the IP network. Another concept similar to IP phone is IP real-time fax, the IP real-time fax is a kind of real-time fax service with certain quality of service transmitted over the IP network. Supporting H.323/SIP protocol, Expert provides IP phone/fax gateway functions, and smoothly co-networks with Huawei A8010 GK and other equipment provided by other vendors(such as Cisco,Vocaltec etc). With more and more subscribers access Internet via PSTN, the impact of data access service on traditional PSTN network becomes more and more evident. As a result, the call connection loss of PSTN network has increased dramatically. Data bypass is a concept that shorts the Internet calls traffic route from local Exchanger, by introducing this concept, the network performance has been greatly increased.

Distributed Networking - Signaling Distribution Point

SDP (Signaling Distribute Point) Technology. The above diagram is a demo in which Expert is used for networking under distributed SS7 signaling mode. Expert has a built-in feature called SDP, so it can be used for networking with other Expert. When Expert is used as a signaling distribution point, it can also process subscriber access service. Another strong feature is that signaling point resources can be saved since SDP and its sub access equipment only occupies one signaling point. When an Expert is used as SDP, it can be configured 192 signaling links, in another words, the whole-distributed system can process at most 200,000 subscribers. As to Network Management system our customers can easily perform centralized monitor throughout the network and perform maintenance management on single equipment. With the powerful traffic statistics feature provided by Expert equipment, every equipment in the distributed system can export its traffic statistics information to network management center, so that you can implement better management through-out the network.

Smoothly Evolve to NGN

The trend of the current communication development indicates that the next generation network will be an integrated network, which emphasizes bandwidth at core layer and the diversity at edge layer. The layer division concept in network construction get more and more clear, in this respect, the network is divided into several layers and the upper layer served for the lower ones. The next generation network is composed of network application layer, network control layer, core switch layer and edge access layer. The basic structure of next generation network is shown in the figure, as a trunk media gateway, Expert can interoperate with HUAWEI's SoftSwitch(MGC) by standard protocol H.248/MGCP/SIP/H.323,which gives an effective way to smoothly evolve to NGN(next generation network).
