As the core device of HUAWEI unified communications, the SoftCo9500 performs operations such as call control, media gateway access control, resource allocation, protocol processing, routing, authentication, and charging. A single SoftCo9500 can provide services for 10,000 users.

Product Positioning

The SoftCo9500 is a type of IP-PBX and small SoftSwitch device at the network control layer of HUAWEI unified communications. By adopting advanced hardware and software technological expertise, the SoftCo9500 features strong service and networking capabilities, providing voice services of high efficiency, quality, and reliability for networks of enterprises and industries.

Product Features

The SoftCo9500:

• Provides plentiful basic voice services and supplementary services.
• Complies with the T.38 and T.30 protocols and provides high-quality IP fax and modem services.
• Provides multimedia services such as video communication and video conferences.
• Supports multiple call restriction modes and intelligent routing.
• Complies with the SIP and H.248 protocols and signaling such as the SS7, PRA, R2, and QSIG.
• Supports flexible networking.
• Provides embedded interaction voice response (IVR) resources that implement the functions of announcement playing and two-stage dialing.
• Provides virtual IP-PBX function. One single SoftCo can be configured as multiple virtual IP-PBX systems to serve multiple companies.
• Provides dual service network ports.
• The two service network ports can be used to process data of various types in active/standby mode or process service data and maintenance data respectively.
• Supports current balancing, backup, and hot swapping of the power module.
• Supports 1+1 hot redundancy of the main control board.
  When the active main control board is faulty, the standby main control board takes over services automatically.

Product Appearance

The SoftCo9500 adopts a 6 U (1 U = 44.45 mm) standard shelf. Figure 2-1 and Figure 2-2 show the front view and rear view of the SoftCo9500 respectively.

If participants of a conference use IP phones that encode and decode voice in G.729 and G.723 mode, the maximum number of participants supported by the SoftCo9500 decreases.
